One thing that seems to unite clubs and fans alike is disaster. The most memorable event to befall a club happened on February 6, 1958, to Manchester United FC. Their plane, carrying the senior team and a number of officials and journalists crashed in Munich. Twenty-two of the passengers, eight of them players, died either at the scene, or later in hospital.
