High Priest, Ba'taar, takes the first steps in gathering a new investigation team together to look into an incident occurring at the Great Eye, primary transportation portal into the great city of Amyphysto. Mysteries abound... but not just at the gate. The "Eyes" discover that the Temple of Truth has its own secrets, hidden deep within the sublevels. It isn't long before they realize that sometimes uncovering the Truth is also a matter of life and death!
It is the Day of Transition and celebration is the backdrop of this holiday in Amyphysto, but the fun starts when the investigation team is notified of a mysterious man of gold appears mysteriously out of a stone wall, leaving a detailed indentation in his wake, only to disappear into the undercity without a trace. The "Eyes" endeavor to discover the answers but find themselves left with only questions. Rumors of a "hungry" bag on an eating rampage abound, mysterious deaths, and just when the parade begins, Potsu is attacked by the strange, alien spider creature, sending him and his balloon craft hurtling towards the viewing boxes of the noble parade patrons.
... and into the Fire! Jynx learns the hard way that following ones curiosity is not always the best course of action. Did curiosity kill this cat or will satisfaction bring her back? Jenala and Saphra are held captive at the whims of Grimloch's insane Master who appears to only want them for their bodies! Can the team pull themselves together or are things getting too hot?
Ever tried to throw a surprise party for a Psion? Isra and Vanas take on the challenge of keeping the secret from Saphra just long enough to invite all her friends (as well as some wonderful guests of their sister show "Kabal") to Vanas' lush and oh so spidery estate for the froggiest crossover party of year!
The simple act of awakening seems to be a catalyst for disaster when the Temple of Truth is hit with memory alterations of epidemic proportions. Potsu and Alria... investigators missing and presumed never to have existed; and Calis and Laria, twins switched at death? Who knows? Who remembers? The discovery of a small glowing orb in the doorway of the morgue the night before seems the most likely culprit, but when Jynx, once again, takes the investigation into her own hands -- she gets three times the "Orb" she bargains for.
High Priest Ba'taar invites a new face to the Temple in hopes that his cousin, Aren, can give a fresh dimension to the shifting Truth behind the memory variances in his investigation team. Psychic impressions left at the scene of the massacre of a local "Merchant" and his entire household seem to indicate that the disappearance of Potsu, Alria, and the fabled Sword of the Scorpion could be the source of all their problems... but the sword is right where it should be. The Truth seems more Out of Sight than ever.
A glimpse behind the imposing walls of Amyphysto Asylum leaves our investigation team with great apprehension regarding Morev, the "Head" custodian. Could the memory alterations be spill-over from the extreme psionic treatments performed on Asylum patients? "He would have returned to his family" was the cryptic answer from the dead Merchant, but just who are the various families of Zambrians in Amphysto's noble sector? Perhaps one has offered sanctuary to Potsu and Alria in their flight from the Scorpion Clan. Special guest appearances by Vanas and Lord Spyder shed much light on this mysterious Sword of the Scorpion and who, over all, has the right to wield it.
With the Sword of the Scorpion (hopefully) back where it belongs, things should finally be getting back to normal... but the memory manipulations continue and the team is forced to face the fact that they may have only solved part of the puzzle! Suspicions mount as evidence is discovered missing. Could the eighth Djinn that Equinox spoke of be one of their own?
Be careful what you wish for...with a Djinn on the loose! "The Boss" takes a turn for the animated and his exploded remains suddenly reconstitute into what is far from a dream come true. Could someone have wished for more excitement? Even un-uttered wishes can have unexpected results and Erv learns this the hard way when he finds himself caught between Vanas and Jynx. Proof positive that relationships (like wishes) should NEVER be taken for granted!
Temple life takes a bizarre twist when Barnaby wakens to find himself center stage in the Barnaby World of his dreams... where Saphra and Laria vie for his attentions, Jynx isn't hungry, and Barnaby is the High Priest of the Temple of Truth! Could this get any weirder? Maybe we shouldn't have said that...
Circumstances cast a suspicious eye toward the Al Halaan clan. How far will nobility go to insure the safety of their kin and the wedding of Liowli and Shenad? Jynx has no choice but to return and face the music, putting her life - as well as her heart - at risk once more. A serial killer preying on innocent women sends a message to Amyphysto that will not soon be forgotten...as it is engraved in the body of the latest victim!
The grisley murders continue as the Psycho Killer of Stalker Downs claims another victim. Temple of Truth investigators try to piece together a profile of the suspect, but the deeper they go to find the answers, the more questions rise to the surface... of the river. In a sudden turn, the Truth goes under cover but the stakes may be too high for Tibaan when they discover the chances of bluffing the green-eyed killer are slinn to none! Just how much is the team willing to gamble in bringing this maniac to justice?
As if a psycho killer on the loose isn't bad enough, the Temple of Truth is crawling with evil menace...literally! Barnaby and Erv discover a secret passage and the team spreads out and find several more. Thinking this could be the answer to the mysterious break-ins that resulted in the death of two guards and a slinn prisoner; the investigators follow the dark narrow passages in the hope of confronting their spies. But the walls have Ears, thousands of them, and when the Eyes look within, they find a foe they can definitely do without! Kabal's Vanas, guest stars.
Psycho Serial Killer... 2 Eyes of Amyphysto... 0 The Stalker Downs murderer has seemingly abandoned his killing spree and endless nights of futile stakeouts take their toll on the team. Question is, with all Eyes turned to the dark streets of Amyphysto, who is left watching the vault? Someone wants to talk to Jynx and a small clipping of the Al Halaan family crest hidden inside her invitation may to be a link to a mysterious ally within the noble family... unless a slinn in want of her skin is leaving bait in hopes of a switch! Guest appearances by Spider and Vanas from Kabal.
When the Psycho Killer of Stalker Downs once again claims a victim, his messages to the Eyes get even more personal. Does this deranged maniac actually want to be caught....or do his psychotic episodes have a deeper meaning? Grimloch's trap catches a rat while they are gone to investigate the latest murder scene... is this proof there is Truth to the theory that the murders are a diversion to get them away from the Temple... and the vault? More determined than ever, our investigators devise an intricate plan that could solve both mysteries. Now success rides on Laria's ability to shed her inhibitions long enough to catch the eye of a madman and on the desperation of a tiny demon on an evil mission.
When Necromancer Ulfinesh is kidnapped and held for ransom at the Fallen Angel, Tibaan, Erv, Saphra and Jynx journey through the Eye to the infamous Nexus city to rescue him. But it's dealer's choice and once The Game begins, all bets are off. Win... and they leave alive, but the price of losing is... Tibaan's own skin!
