毛利探偵事務所に、目暮警部が依頼にやってくる。内容は、不倫している部下・沢渡刑事について調べてほしいというものだった。妻が実家に帰っている中、カップルが多く訪れるカフェで別の女性と食事したり、高級ジュエリーショップに行ったり、花束を買っていたり――状況証拠は不倫が確定しているかのようだ。「動かぬ証拠を突きつけて沢渡刑事を止めたい」と頭を下げる目暮警部に、コナンたちは協力することになるが……。
Inspector Megure comes to the Mouri Detective Agency with a request. He asks them to investigate his subordinate, Detective Sawatari, who is having an affair. While his wife is back at her parents house, he has been dining with another woman at a cafe frequented by couples, visiting a high-end jewelry shop, and buying a bouquet of flowers - circumstantial evidence seems to confirm the affair.
