Lief begins his journey with Barda to collect the seven gems of Deltora and save the land from the evil clutches of the Shadow Lord.
影の大王によって闇におおわれた王国デルトラ。大王が７つの魔境に７つの宝石を隠してから１６年が経った。デルの町では、正義感の強い少年が元気に育っていた。かつてデル城で暮らしていた鍛冶屋のジャードの一人息子リーフである。１６歳の誕生日にリーフは父ジャードから、宝石のないデルトラのベルトと剣を、母アンナからマントを贈られた。父の意志でバルダとともに旅に出る。
