In Minot, North Dakota, in a historic neighborhood nestled within the curve of an ox-bow lake, police respond to reports of gunshots and find 27-year-old football star Joshua Velasquez dead in an alley. The neighborhood is in chaos, and many people are running around looking for a way out. Investigators must work quickly to block all exits and interview all potential witnesses - knowing that at least one of them could be armed and dangerous. But to identify the killer, detectives must first figure out what happened to transform a happy summer wedding celebration into a violent and deadly confrontation.
