Tell Him Something Pretty

Alma pod tlakem manželovy smrti souhlasí s prodejem svého dolu. Město zatím žije začátkem dlouho očekávaných voleb. Hearst se rozhoduje opustit město a svůj odjezd podmiňuje Trixiinou smrtí. Al má pro ni ale stále slabost, a tak místo ní nechá zlikvidovat jinou prostitutku, přičemž spoléhá na to, že si Hearst nemůže pamatovat, jak skutečně vypadala žena, která ho postřelila. Tolliver začíná být unavený z posluhování Hearstovi, ale Bullock ho nechá žít i s jeho pocity viny.

Sheriff Bullock muss einsehen, dass er gegen den skrupellosen Millionär Hearst den Kürzeren gezogen hat: Alma beugt sich Hearsts Druck und verkauft ihren Claim. Commissioner Harry Jarry gewinnt die manipulierte Wahl. Hearst verlangt den Tod der Prostituierten, die auf ihn geschossen hat. Doch Swearengen empfindet viel für Trixie.

In the third, and last, season finale, the camp turns out to vote--but as Bullock notes, the election may already have been decided. In light of the populace's mood, Langrishe delays the opening of his theater, and ponders his future in Deadwood. After detouring at Nuttall's Number ten, Hawkeye arrives at the Gem with "almost 18" men to complement Wu's contingent. Alma works out a deal for her claim; Utter recieves another body for Hearst; and Harry gets his fire engine. Stubbs reaches out to a frustrated Tolliver, who finds himself with a folded hand as the action heats up. Through Farnum, Hearst issues his conditions for departure, forcing Swearengen to finish what Burns can't.

Langrishe rimanda l'apertura del suo teatro e medita seriamente sull'opportunità di rimanere o meno a Deadwood. Hawkeye arriva al Gem con 18 uomini di rinforzo per il contingente di Wu. Attraverso Farnum, Hearst detta le sue condizioni costringendo Sweareangen a finire quello che Burns non era riuscito a fare.

Amanece el día de las elecciones en Deadwood. Utter despierta a Hearst para decirle que ha llegado un ataúd a su nombre... Con un cadáver dentro. “Evidentemente no es el mío”, replica Hearst. Pero Utter continúa provocándolo, diciéndole que no le gusta su tono de voz y que más le vale cambiarlo para la próxima vez. Hearst, divertido por el descaro de Utter, le cierra la puerta en las narices. En un teatro vacío, Langrishe repasa el estado de las tensiones en el pueblo y si eso debería retrasar su estreno mientras Claudia le escucha. Adams se encuentra con Hawkeye borracho en la calle y le exige saber dónde ha estado. Hawkeye insiste en que sus hombres están acampados a las afueras para no alertar a Hearst. Adams lo arrastra a que se dé un baño. Alma le explica a Sofia que se ven obligadas a vender para poder quedarse en Deadwood. Deja a Sofia con Jane mientras Star y Bullock la acompañan hasta donde Hearst para supervisar la venta de su mina. Bullock y Alma insisten en que Hearst entregue el oro directamente a la caja fuerte del banco y a Hearst le ofende la precaución. Cuando Hearst le hace a Alma un último comentario lascivo, Bullock defiende su honor. “No sabe estar callado. Todos los matones que he conocido no saben cerrar la put* boca”, advierte el Sheriff. Mientras Jane juega con Sofia llega Joanie para ver si necesitan algo, y Jane finge ante Sofia que ha invocado a Joanie con su “pensamiento secreto”. Tumbado en el suelo con dolores de espalda, Hearst le ordena a Farnum que le entregue a Swearengen una nota. Farnum teme que la nota pida su muerte, pero Al le revela que lo que pide es la de Trixie.

Det är valdag i Deadwood. Hearst beordrar Farnum att leverera ett meddelande till Swearengen. Meddelandet kräver att Trixie ska dö. Alma förklarar för Sofia att de tvingas att sälja för att kunna stanna kvar i Deadwood.
