Die Ewings können es nicht fassen. Jock ist mit dem Hubschrauber abgestürzt. Ray, Bobby und J.R. fliegen sofort nach Südamerika. Sie untersuchen die Absturzstelle des Hubschraubers. Auf dem Grund des Sees finden sie Teile des Wracks und Jocks Halskette.
J.R, Bobby and Ray fly to South America to join in the investigation of Jock's helicopter accident. They search in the jungle and even reach the crash site where Bobby finds Jock's medallion but nothing else. The Ewing boys return with the terrible news.
Les Ewing ne peuvent admettre la disparition de Jock. Bobby et Ray frètent un avion pour l'Amérique du Sud. Ils vont enquêter sur place sur l'accident d'hélicoptère qui aurait provoqué la mort de Jock. Le propriétaire d'un petit avion leur raconte comment il a heurté l'hélicoptère. Bobby et Ray plongent dans le lac où ils découvrent la preuve de la présence de leur père dans l'hélicoptère.
