Royal Marriage

J.R is thrilled when Lucy becomes engaged to Kit Mainwaring. It will mean a potential business merger with Mainwaring Oil, which would be beneficial to Ewing Oil, and J.R. Unfortunately, Kit Mainwaring is gay. He eventually confesses this to Bobby, and then to Lucy. Lucy is heartbroken, but stands by Kit, and holds the secret. Only she and Bobby know the truth. But, of course, J.R. knew all along.

Lucy est amoureuse. Toute la famille s'en réjouit et surtout J.R. car l'heureux élu n'est autre que l'unique héritier d'une autre grande famille texane : les Mainwaring. J.R. voit donc dans cet union un moyen de réunir les deux familles en une dynastie du pétrole. Le mariage est soudainement annulé lorsque Kit annonce à Lucy ses préférences pour les hommes. Choquée, Lucy accepte tout de même la séparation mais son coeur est brisé.
