    Michelle's best friend, Nicole, gets a thorough lesson on menopause. Nicole admits to relapsing with her addiction problem and tells Michelle that if she doesn't use Gus for sex, she will.

    Gus meets Michelle at a park after Michelle contacted him. Michelle confesses that she still wants to spend time with Gus, and Gus tells Michelle that he wants to live with her. He gives her one week to think about it.

    Over cocktails, Nicole and Alex, another friend of Michelle's from Amazon, turn Michelle onto a hot stud from an online cougar dating site, but Michelle's affection for Gus gets in the way.

    After a night of great sex at a fancy hotel in downtown Los Angeles, Gus brings up living together which launches them into a deep conversation about their age differences, their love for one another, and the tough decisions they must make.

    Mark and Bob work for Amazon, the company Michelle worked at for a decade. Meeting in their usual place, the parking garage at headquarters, Bob tells Mark that Alex invited him over for brunch in order to set him up with Michelle.

    Following a line of coke, Joel, Alex's partner, tells Alex that his straight squash buddy, Bob, is at the door while he continues to wait for Alex to join he, Michelle, and Gus in the dining room for brunch. Alex tells Bob that Michelle, his "blind date," showed up with her kid boyfriend, Gus, but Bob decides to stay anyway.

  • S02E01 Red Flags

    While Michelle drives and listens to a radio show about the mid-life/menopausal experience, she gets a text message from Gus asking her to meet him at their downtown spot since he's on break from work. No sooner than she says yes, he pops the question. Once Michelle meets Gus, he pops yet another question which changes everything for both of them.

    Gus leaves he and Michelle's neighborhood in the City of Angels, bike-to-bus and then bike to a nearby neighborhood, to meet Sonya, his older sister. Sonya complains about her minimum wage jobs, asks Gus if he's living with an "older lady friend," and then gets around to the real reason why she needs to talk to Gus. When Gus realizes what Sonya wants from him, he has more than a few things to say about it which changes their relationship forever.

    In couple's therapy, Michelle challenges Gus for withholding his shady past causing Gus to storm out of the room. Alone with the therapist, Michelle reveals that Gus' secrets have stymied her love for him, but when Gus returns, the therapist gives the lovers insights that move them away from old ideas about their pasts, replacing them with new ones in their present.

  • S02E04 The Movie Star

    Michelle joins a new pet loss therapy group, and to her surprise meets famous British movie star, Seth Parker; the only one in the group who deeply identifies with Michelle's share. Following the meeting, Seth invites Michelle for a car ride and discovers something unique about Michelle which convinces him she should follow a certain specific career path. Later, after Gus learns that Michelle hung out with Mr. Parker all afternoon and that his favorite movie star is now steering the direction of her career, Gus steers Michelle's attention back to their relationship and the things Dr. Nowak suggested they think about.

    Alex, Michelle's friend from Amazon, meets millennial, Peter, following a narcotics anonymous meeting. Peter helps Alex cope with his withdrawal symptoms, and then not before long, Alex and Peter are so besotted with one another that they find themselves acting impulsively. Alex, however, snaps back to reality and remains faithful to his husband and his number one priority, his sobriety.

    Gus meets "his employer," Jeremy, at one of their usual locations. Jeremy asks Gus why his sister Sonya would call him and say that Gus stopped working for him. Gus assures Jeremy he still works for him, but for different reasons now.

    Alex catches up with his friend Michelle and then following protocol of his twelve-step program, makes amends to she and Gus for insulting their relationship in Season One. Michelle accepts his apology, but when Gus does not, Alex's emotions rise to the surface. Peter, now Alex's sponsor, comes onto the scene, and sensing the tension, tries to lighten the mood, but fails so miserably that Michelle and Gus leave. Alone, Peter and Alex step into their sponsor/sponsee roles until Peter reveals something personal about his life that changes everything.

    Michelle and Gus drink whiskey with Steve and Chelsea, Michelle's brother and his wife, until the evening turns Virginia Woolf like. Steve attacks Michelle for her new-found career and Gus for his newly realized ambitions, however it's Gus' announcement that throws everyone for a loop and ends Season Two with us guessing...what's next?

Just when the couple thinks they're back on track, one incident causes a near accident and sends them on a different route.

    Michelle Macabee meets a "fan" while she's on a walk at the beach, but her "fan" turns out to be someone she knows who spills the beans about Gus. Michelle walks away and is chased and harassed by this young woman until Michael Miller, a passerby, breaks up the argument and befriends Michelle.

    Michelle challenges Gus in couple's therapy, with their new couple's therapist, Dr. Kerr. Gus claims he knows nothing about the "rumors" Michelle has heard, and by the end of their session, he diverts the attention off of him and makes Michelle an offer she cannot resist.

    In a fourth interview with Mrs. Shannon Pierce, a foster-to-adopt social worker, Gus, with Michelle by his side, is drilled with personal questions that make him so uncomfortable he threatens to file a complaint to Mrs. Pierce's supervisor, but when Mrs. Pierce reveals what she knows about Gus, Michelle freezes in a state of disbelief.
