The battle between the Soul Reapers and the Espada becomes more and more tense. Soi Fon and Omaeda find themselves in a bad situation against Barragan’s Respira. They can’t even counterattack Respira because they can’t get anywhere near it. Then, Soi Fon goes off somewhere, leaving Omaeda to fight Barragan alone. Omaeda attacks with Gegetsuburi, but Barragan destroys it easily with Respira. Just when Omaeda is backed into a corner, Soi Fon arrives, having released her Bankai…
Soi Fon laisse Omaeda se débrouiller tout seul pour éliminer Barragan. Cependant le vice-capitaine ne fait que fuir, en vain. Il tente tout simplement de gagner du temps. Grâce à lui, Soi Fon a pu préparer son Bankai, et, sous sa nouvelle forme, elle attaque l'Espada no 2. Kyoraku remarque que son adversaire se préoccupe du combat d'Ukitake avec une jeune fille, qui semble à première vue être sa subordonnée. Mais en réalité, elle ne l'est pas uniquement.
Mentre lo scontro tra Kyoraku e Stark prosegue, il Capitano nota la particolare attenzione che il suo avversario rivolge a Lilynette, che si sta battendo con Ukitake. Nel frattempo è Omaeda a tenere occupato Baraggan seppure con grosse difficoltà. Proprio quando sembra non avere più via di scampo, Soifon riappare sfoderando il suo Bankai.
La batalla entre los Shinigami y los Espada es cada vez más dura. Soi Fon y Omaeda se encuentran en mala situación contra Barragan.
