Ein spektakulärer Überfall auf einen Gefangenentransport stellt Tom und Semir vor ein Rätsel: Warum sind nicht alle Gefangenen geflohen, und warum ist ausgerechnet der Sträfling Mitscherlich abgehauen, der doch nur noch wenige Monate abzusitzen hatte? Der Kripobeamte Jörg Halbert soll Tom und Semir bei den Ermittlungen helfen. Der Gangster Gunnar Schroth, der den Überfall auf den Gefangenentransport angeordnet hat, erlebt derweil eine böse Überraschung: Seine beiden Handlanger Brisco und Goover haben den falschen Mann befreit! Schroths Bruder Manfred war nämlich gar nicht in dem Transporter. Schroth ist einer Fehlinformation aufgesessen, die er durch einen Spitzel aus den Reihen der Polizei bekommen hat und die Mitscherlich das Leben kostet. Der Maulwurf ist Jörg Halbert, dem die Sache nach dem Auffinden von Mitscherlichs Leiche zu heiß wird und der aussteigen will. Das kann Schroth nicht zulassen: Um Halbert unter Druck zu setzen, wird dessen Sohn Peter entführt. Halbert sieht rot und will seinen Sohn auf eigene Faust befreien...
A spectacular attack on a prisoner transport presents Tom and Semir with a mystery: Why did not all the prisoners escape, and why did Mitscherlich, of all people, run away, when he only had a few months left to serve? Detective Jörg Halbert is supposed to help Tom and Semir with the investigation. Meanwhile, gangster Gunnar Schroth, who ordered the attack on the prisoner transport, gets a nasty surprise: his two henchmen Brisco and Goover have freed the wrong man! Schroth's brother Manfred was not even in the transport. Schroth has fallen for misinformation that he received from an informant in the police ranks, and which costs Mitscherlich his life. The mole is Jörg Halbert, who finds things too hot after finding Mitscherlich's body and wants to get out. Schroth cannot allow that: In order to put pressure on Halbert, his son Peter is kidnapped. Halbert sees red and wants to free his son on his own...
Unos hombres asaltan un furgón de transporte de presos para liberar al hermano de uno de ellos.
Due uomini attaccano un furgone che trasportava dei detenuti e liberano uno dei due carcerati, mentre l'altro si rifiuta di scappare con loro. Il mandante di questo attacco si chiama Gunnar Schrot e l'uomo che doveva essere liberato era suo fratello Manfred. Per un errore dei suoi scagnozzi, l'uomo liberato è un altro, che per sicurezza, viene ucciso. Viene scoperto ad occultare il cadavere una vecchia conoscenza dell'autostradale, Einersomuller, detto Guber; interrogato da Tom Kranich e Semir Gerkhan, nega tutto. L'autostradale viene aiutata nelle indagini da Albert, un vecchio amico di Anna Engelhardt, che aveva fornito informazioni a Schrot sotto ricatto perché egli liberasse il fratello che voleva testimoniare contro di lui in tribunale e per questo andava ucciso. Il figlio di Albert viene rapito ed egli è costretto a mentire per salvare suo figlio. L'autostradale riesce comunque a intervenire, a cogliere i malviventi sul fatto e a salvare Manfred.
