１９７７年、中国金属学会考察団が訪日し、最新鋭の鉄鋼プラントが東洋製鉄に発注されました。陸一心は日中共同の製鉄所建設チームの一員として働くことになり、日本の東洋製鉄は一心の実父である松本耕次を派遣します。一心と耕次は、互いに国と会社を背負って、同じ事業に関わることになります。日本人孤児の肉親捜しの話で北京に出てきた養父の陸徳志と、耕次と一心は養父と実の親子とも知らず、万里の長城で出会います。
In 1977, a delegation from the Chinese Institute of Metallurgy visited Japan, and a state-of-the-art steel plant was awarded to Toyo Seitetsu. Riku Isshin was assigned to work as a member of the Japan-China joint steel plant construction team, and Toyo Seitetsu in Japan sent Matsumoto Koji, Isshin's father.
