  • S01E01 The New Recruit

    Vancouver's Eastside is a hotbed of crime, & drug abuse. The Beat Enforcement Team, is charged with maintaining order amidst the chaos. The team's newest recruit is Mariya Zhalovaga. With veteran Shane Aitken showing her the ropes, Mariya will have to learn quickly or risk being left aside. Meanwhile Sgt. Hinton orders Constables Russell & Prévost to investigate a string of robberies.

  • S01E02 Operation Clean Streets

    With his resources stretched to the limit, Sgt. Hinton is asked to commit officers to escorting street-cleaning crews through the Eastside. Two weeks into her training assignment, Zhalovaga, has yet to hit her stride. Meanwhile, Constable Fisher is struggling to balance the demands of work with her personal ambitions, as she attempts at getting pregnant.

    Constable Kristie Fisher returns from medical leave, her latest attempt at getting pregnant having failed. With her partner Tara, they escort a local resident who's been receiving threats from a violent ex. Meanwhile, the B.E.T. try to track a drug dealer who's tortured women over drug debts. Due to an incredible rise in chronic offenders, Sgt. Hinton works to raise awareness of the problem.

    As Hinton adjusts to a more administrative role, his successor at the B.E.T., Sgt. Steinkampf, unveils his first operation in the Eastside: a major clean up of the drug trade taking place around the Community Center. Throughout this initiative, Constable Russell, one of the team's youngest officers, is hard at work mentoring the team's newest member, Marina Trenkel.

    Constable Aitken takes a class of local students on a tour of the Eastside. The sights and sounds are at times grim, but they drive home the realities of addiction. Meanwhile The Beat Enforcement Team work to bring down a gang of Central American drug dealers. When Constable Fisher discovers that they swallow their stash before officers can seize it, she decides to take a more discreet approach.

    A controversial government decision to shut down a safe injection site has everyone choosing sides. Sgt. Steinkampf takes a visiting journalist on a tour of the neighborhood, just as housing activists decide to squat in a nearby park. Inspector McKay, meanwhile, is on the lookout for a prostitute he's been trying to help get off the streets.

    Rooming houses on the Downtown Eastside have become a favorite spot for drug dealers to conduct business. When Sgt. Steinkampf receives a tip concerning a drug ring in one of the neighborhood's most notorious buildings, he decides to act. At the same time, Sgt. Hinton faces another major problem in the area: violence toward the elderly community.

    With "Operation Old Timer" in full swing, Sgt. Hinton decides that he will take a turn as the undercover elderly decoy. The success of the operation motivates Hinton to apply for a permanent position of staff sergeant.
