Alex et Leblanc débutent l'enquête et retrouvent une lettre manuscrite écrite par une amie de la jeune femme, Mathilde. Recherches effectuées, Alex découvre que cette personne fait partie de la police. Prévenue, elle se saisit aussitôt de l'enquête et arrive à Lusagne. Les deux flics vont tenter de s'apprivoiser et de comprendre ce drame d'il y a presque 30 ans, quand une jeune activiste idéaliste avait débarqué à Lusagne, aux côtés d'autres "écoguerrières"...
