Blue Seed (stylized as BLUE SEED) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuzo Takada. The plot is based on the Izumo cycle of Japanese mythology. The main character, Momiji Fujimiya, is a descendant of the mythical Princess Kushinada (奇稲田姫, Kushinada-hime). When Japan is menaced by Aragami (荒神, Aragami, lit. "angry gods") spawned by Yamata no Orochi, Momiji is intended to be sacrificed to appease the Aragami. She instead, however, becomes a member of the Terrestrial Administration Center (TAC), a secret agency charged with fighting them.

The original video animation (OVA) episodes are special episodes that were not aired during the original season but released alongside select volumes of the manga. So far, OVAs 1, 2, 4, and 5 have been officially released in English, included in the English special editions of Volumes 17 - 20.
Eiken (エイケン) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Seiji Matsuyama. The story depicts the life of schoolboy Densuke Mifune after he is forced into the mysterious Eiken Club. The manga series ran for eighteen volumes, and additionally included a series guidebook. A number of radio drama episodes and a two episode OVA (the latter roughly based on a volume 3 storyline) have also been produced. The first twelve manga volumes have been released in North America. The first three volumes were rated 16+, while subsequent volumes were rated 18+.
