Henri Dullac, Kriminalkommissar aus Marseille, übernimmt das kleine Bistro "Zum kleinen Fisch" in dem beschaulichen Fischerdorf Bichet. Sein kürzlich unter mysteriösen Umständen verstorbener Onkel hatte es ihm vermacht. Henri beschließt, dort seinen Ruhestand zu genießen. Er möchte eigentlich nichts mehr mit Kriminalfällen zu tun haben, lässt sich von der örtlichen Polizei aber doch immer wieder zur Mithilfe überreden.
