Während die teilnehmenden Teams des Turbo-Duell Grand Prix vorgestellt werden, erfahren Yusei und seine Freunde von dem erneuten Auftauchens von Ghost. Ein unbekannter, maskiertert Mann erklärt Yusei daraufhin, dass er Ghost nur bezwingen könne, wenn er seine Synchronbeschwörung nicht anwendet.
Yusei has a nightmare about Stardust Dragon being captured by The Ghost, and of Sherry's offer. Wanting to learn to duel without relying on Synchro monsters, Yusei asks Jack to duel him. As they duel, they are being watched by a mysterious character (who is really Vizor). Sensing fear in Yusei after being attacked by Red Dragon Archfiend, Jack cancels the duel, saying that there's no way to win without Synchros (Vizor left by the time the duel was over). Later, everyone attends a premiere event for the WRGP, where the details for the tournament are shown. Lazar meets up with the group from Yliaster, who are using the tournament for their own gain. Just then, the party is crashed by a violent Turbo Duelist named Dobocle. Akiza stops him from wrecking the party, and the Yliaster trio become interested in her powers. Dobocle tries to escape, but is attacked by another Ghost, who is really Primo, because he got sick of Dobocle's actions. As the gang goes to help, they are stopped by a mysterious character, called Vizor, who says that Yusei is not ready to face the Ghost again.
Yusei fait un cauchemar sur le Dragon Poussière d'Étoile qui est capturé par Ghost. Souhaitant apprendre à jouer sans faire appel aux monstres Synchro, Yusei demande à Jack de l'affronter. Pendant leur duel, ils sont observés par un personnage mystérieux. Sentant la peur en Yusei après avoir été attaqué par le Dragon Rouge Archdémon, Jack annule le duel, disant que Yusei ne peut pas gagner sans recourir aux invocations Synchro. Plus tard, tout le monde assiste à la cérémonie de présentation du WRGP, où les détails du tournoi sont révélés. Lazar rejoint alors le groupe d'Yliaster, qui utilise le tournoi dans leur propre intérêt. Plus tard, la fête est perturbée par un duelliste fou et alors que le groupe veut aider à l'arrêter, ils sont stoppés par un personnage mystérieux, qui dit que Yusei ne sera pas capable de battre Ghost dans sa condition actuelle.
