Yoshitsune’s visit to Tokuko is taken favorably by the imperial court but criticized by Kagetoki and other Genji warriors as being too amiable to the enemy. Otoku comes to see Yoshitsune, being worried about the undermined relationship between Yoshitsune and Yoritomo. Hearing from her what Kagetoki has reported about him to Yoritomo, Yoshitsune feels the urge to go to Kamakura to talk directly to Yoritomo. One day, Yukiie visits Yoshitsune after a long time and tells him Yoritomo is harsh on Yoshitsune out of jealousy. Yukiie even tries to persuade Yoshitsune to join a rebellion against Yoritomo with the backing of the imperial court. Being asked by the ex-emperor Goshirakawa to recommend a person who would take Munemori to Kamakura, Yoshitsune volunteers for the task. Yoshitsune leaves for Kamakura with his retainers and....
徳子（中越典子）を見舞った義経（滝沢秀明）の行動は、梶原景時（中尾彬）から「敵方に好意的すぎる」と批判を浴びる。お徳（白石加代子）から、景時が頼朝（中井貴一）へ提出した報告書の内容を知らされた義経は、鎌倉へ行き、直接頼朝の誤解を解きたいと強く思い始める。そんな中、義経は後白河法皇（平幹二朗）から平宗盛（鶴見辰吾）の護送役を相談され、自らその役を志願。郎党らと共に鎌倉へ出発するのだが…。
