Joey Marella was a highly respected WWF referee and the adopted son of wrestling legend Gorilla Monsoon. A vital fixture on televised Madison Square Garden Network cards from the 1980s into the 1990s, he maintained order in some of the company’s most iconic encounters. Marella famously officiated the historic Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant main event at WrestleMania III, as well as the legendary Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog Intercontinental Championship match at SummerSlam 1992.
