The Winx and Roxy receive from the headmistress the seven Stones of Memory to travel back in time: only in this way, they will be able to save the Digmoles. At Alfea in the ancient past, the Winx are surprised to meet none other than a young Faragonda (a freshman student back then), who has one of the digmoles as her own fairy animal. But her roommate, Kalshara, has plans involving the ancient hall where a source of vast wild magic resides.

Faragonda è preoccupata: dato che ogni Animale Fatato possiede un talento speciale, bisogna svelare il mistero degli Scavatalpa. Le Winx e Roxy ottengono dalla direttrice le Pietre dei Ricordi per tornare indietro nel tempo: solo così potranno salvare gli Scavatalpa dall’estinzione e scoprire il segreto che custodiscono. Le ragazze scoprono che nell’Alfea del passato Animali Fatati e fate vivevano a stretto contatto tra loro. Poi, incontrano Faragonda da giovane, il cui Scavatalpa è appena scappato via: decidono così di aiutarla a ritrovare l’animaletto per portare avanti la loro missione.
