Twenty-two-year-old Daryl arrives from Nottingham knowing that over the next week he's the most likely of his friends not to find romance. But will his change in tactics deliver the encounters that he craves? 'Getting paid and getting laid' is the motto of the 400 or so Brits who work on the island through the whole season. Some sleep with a few; one is said to have bedded more than 100. But while promiscuity is very much accepted, monogamy is unforgivable, and on the workers' regular 'booze cruise', an unusual punishment is handed out to the barman who slept with the same woman more than three times: a glass of urine to drink, and not even his own.
Alcohol is very much on everyone's mind in this episode in a town where excessive drinking is actively encouraged and where the cocktails are three times cheaper than back home. It's hardly surprising that the 'Strip' is awash with drunk and disorderly behaviour. Nineteen-year-old Niki is on holiday for the first time without her parents. She falls off a podium and gets a suspected fracture. An open-minded mother and daughter's night of excessive drinking ends in disaster and a builder from York is told by the A&E clinic that he may have to lose his finger after a drunken night out with his friends turns nasty.
The final episode meets the British workers in Kavos, including PR girl Jenny, who is tested for STIs, hit by a car and treated for malnutrition, all within a matter of weeks. While holidaymakers find it hard to last a week in Kavos, the workers have to tough it out for the entire summer, which means night after night of heavy drinking, casual sex and low pay. With no parents around and a job description that encourages binge-drinking and excessive partying, the few hundred British workers soon become a very distinct breed, more promiscuous and more prone to injuries and often needing the services of the local clinic, Kavos Emergencies.
The island's infamous drinking culture and its consequences are explored - where a toxic mix of cheap booze, no parents and no rules lands some young Brits in trouble, on what is often their first foreign holiday. At the medical centre, there's cause for alarm when a young Brit is discovered collapsed on the bathroom floor of a bar under the influence of what the doctors suspect was a spiked cocktail. The show also meets the resort workers who take pride in devising grotesque and humiliating drinking games, such as 'dirty pints', including a nauseous combination of beer, shower gel, urine and vomit.
This episode examines the psyche of the Kavos female, from the girls who lose their minds, as well as their knickers, when they come on holiday, to a group of glamorous girls who seduce the boys into paying for everything. But one young woman goes home with more than she bargained for when her boozy night out results in a trip to the emergency room. And the reality of trying to earn a living as one of the island's exotic dancers is explored.
This episode meet the Kavos virgins who sample everything the hedonistic party town has to offer: from nipple piercings and tattoos to super-strength cocktails and sex games on the beach. For most of the holiday makers in Kavos this is their first holiday without their parents. The episode follows a group of girls determined to make their first parent-free holiday X-rated. There's also the 19-year-old virgin hoping the girls of Kavos will lend him a helping hand; and the posh boys from Cheltenham whose first holiday away from boarding school lands them in a spot of bother.
