Ein Auto, so exzentrisch wie sein Besitzer. Ein Club-Besitzer aus Los Angeles ordert bei den Jungs von „Welder Up“ einen Hingucker mit Seltenheitswert. Deshalb bauen die Ausnahme-Mechaniker dessen alten Lincoln Continental, Baujahr 1965, in dieser Episode zur ultimativen Nobelkarosse um. Der Oldie wird tiefergelegt, sandgestrahlt und anschließend komplett schwarz lackiert. Den Motor und das Getriebe bringen die Jungs ebenfalls wieder in Top-Form. Und für das Interieur des Tuxedo-Rod hat sich die Truppe einige stylische Extras ausgedacht.
Steve trades in his trademark rust for a shiny paintjob when he tackles a 1965 Lincoln Continental for a flashy bartender from L.A. Adding bling to a car that his whole crew hates isn't the only thing Steve has to worry about: his two sons are in town and showing they don't fall far from the tree by tearing the shop apart to build a "rat quad" go-kart.
As the problems mount and Lincoln parts prove impossible to find, Steve is reminded why he'd take a rusty rat rod over a slick luxury car any day of the week.
