A young childless couple decides to take in a cat belonging to a neighbor who recently died. The cat seemingly brings good luck to them, with the husband's business better than ever, and the couple are happier. Or so it seems. For the wife soon becomes fanatically attached to the cat, neglecting her job to take care of it.
Un jeune couple sans enfant décide de prendre un chat appartenant à un voisin décédé récemment. Apparemment, le chat leur porte bonheur, les affaires du mari sont meilleures que jamais et le couple est plus heureux. C'est du moins ce qu'il semble. Car la femme s'attache bientôt fanatiquement au chat, négligeant son travail pour s'en occuper.
若い共稼ぎの｢自立した｣夫婦は、亡くなったマンションの隣人が飼っていた猫を引き取った。猫のおかげで、夫の仕事も順調に進み、家庭は円満になったかに見えた。しかし、やがて妻は猫を溺愛し始め、仕事も放り出して猫の世話を始める。
