What would Mark Wills like to do if he were not a singer? Here's a hint: It would involve blue lights, a badge and handcuffs. For Wills' ""ultimate"" room the design team created a law enforcement themed study complete with a desk made from a real police car! Walking into this room is like being hauled in down town for questioning.
The CMT Ultimate Home 2 design team met with Phil Vassar's longtime friend, bandmate and manager to come up with ideas for a room that Vassar will enjoy hanging out in. See what happens when their funky ideas are turned into reality. Will he love it or loathe it?
Inspired by Kellie Coffey's love of her family weekend getaways to a lake house, the design team transformed the master bedroom into an inviting retreat. The room is paneled with tongue and groove paneling, painted diamonds on the hardwood floor, two swings in the new ""front porch"" area and a custom-made boat bookcase to hold Coffey's favorite reading material …romance novels.
Gena Lee Nolin loves to be pampered and to relax. The team transformed the spa area into a suite of pure relaxation. Around the spa, an Oriental feel is given with the built-up rock garden surround, custom-made bamboo blinds and custom cedar ceiling and floor tiles. (Each tile has 14 pieces of cedar that were individually cut and assembled.) The spa lounge area is complete with a hanging bed, tranquil water feature and an aquarium with goldfish.
For Trace Adkins, a tall guy and lover of history, a room with 14' ceilings, complete with floor-to-ceiling bookcases filled with civil war memorabilia and books, seems the perfect choice for him. Not only did the team line the walls with bookcases, they also installed a sliding library ladder, a hidden compartment and coffered ceiling to ensure comfort to anyone reading about our nation's past.
Growing up in Southern California, NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson has always had a love for South of the Border culture. The team found out when Johnson rolls into town for a race, the first thing he does is search for a burrito, which he also loves to cook when he is at home. Well, with three colors of cabinets, 10 cases of terracotta tile, plenty of stucco and a little inspiration from a pitcher of margaritas, the team transformed the kitchen into a South of the Border paradise. Olé!
How do you design a room to fit three distinct personalities, especially when those personalities belong to the group Trick Pony? You make sure everything in the room is in sets of three. That's right … three flat screen televisions, three super comfortable chairs, artwork in threes, accessories in threes and a design team of three to get it all done.
Eddie George is more than just a football superstar. He also holds a degree in landscape architecture. So transforming the backyard for a professional is a bit of a challenge, so the team call in for reinforcements from Better Homes and Gardens. The result is an incredible adult ""play structure"" with bar, hammock, eating area and slate shower. Why a shower? So the kids can wash off the sand from the beach area before jumping into the pool or going over to the oversized chess set. Custom shade sails from Australia help give the area a unique look. George was more that a little impressed with the effort.
The house is completed, and now it's time for a final review of all the rooms. Then join in a celebration by the pool!
