Tygo meets 'recreational' GHB users and Junita, 28, who has been heavily addicted to GHB for years. He walks with local police officer Fred, who in St. Willebrord, also known as 'roll-hook city', takes a regular round along stubbornly addicted young people. GHB withdrawal is proving to be very difficult, because 'smelling just makes you use', according to Fred. Tygo also meets Kevin who is in a safe house trying to kick the GHB. Only 30% of the young people succeed in this, because after being temporarily clean they often end up in their familiar (user) environment again. Then keep your back straight.
Tygo infiltrates deeper into the drug scene in the Brabant countryside. He witnesses how a dealer makes GHB in a dilapidated shed with wheel cleaner, drain unblocker and demineralized water. He meets Gerrie, who drove a young family off the road under the influence of GHB, and goes shopping with Junita and her friends: no easy task when the effect of the GHB has reached a peak and the supermarket has to be reached by car. The combination of GHB and traffic participation turns out to be life-threatening. Car accidents regularly occur in Brabant or worse: users who jump under the influence of the substance.
Tygo follows the police as they raid a GHB lab. He also meets Kevin who has had to leave the safehouse due to a serious relapse. Kevin is back on full use and shows what the drug does to him mentally and physically. A new admission does not seem so easy: the waiting list for detox is long and in fact it is mainly withdrawal and returning outside one's own living environment that proves to be effective. A first aid doctor says that he sees some GHB patients several times in one evening. 'Out', in a coma or with other serious health problems.
Tygo ends up in a wild police chase. A GHB user makes the roads unsafe and must be stopped immediately. Once in the cell, it turns out that GHBers can get such severe withdrawal symptoms that a doctor has to tell the police to release the arrested person without questioning. Kevin has an honest and confrontational conversation with his mother about his GHB addiction that has now gripped the entire family. Junita talks candidly about the most vulnerable thing that can happen to you as a female GHB user: sexual violence without being able to physically resist it at the moment.
Tygo Gernandt dives once more into the deeply disturbing GHB problem in the Netherlands. How are addicted young people Junita and Kevin and is there already a solution for the GHB problem? Tygo follows Junita to prison, goes to Kevin in the hope that he has been rehabilitated and has an in-depth and personal conversation with Secretary of State Blokhuis.
