The War That Never Ended

A personal view of the Vietnamese by RICHARD WEST. For eight years, writer and journalist Richard West has been covering the war in South Vietnam and has come to regard its people with awe, respect and a deep affection. In tonight's film he revisits Vietnam and looks at some of the legacies of the American participation and at the way in which the people seem not only to survive but to retain their peculiar charm and character, despite a war that has been going on for nearly 30 years.
