During the past century, citizen soldiers, or reservists, have been the backbone of the Army. Today, Army Reservists are critical to the success of Canada’s overseas deployments and missions. They have also played a pivotal role during emergencies at home, such as the flooding of the Red River in Manitoba and the Ice Storm in Ontario and Quebec. We join members of Army Reserve units in the Maritimes as they train during one of their biggest exercises of the year and learn what it takes to be a Canadian citizen soldier!
