After a taxing few days the peloton face one more stage ahead of the second and final rest day, and while it is not considered a mountain stage they will have to go over the Col de Fontbruno as part of the course, which has a maximum elevation of 880m and a long, gradual descent towards the finish line. The riders return to action on the first of six stages in the final week of the Grand Tour, which features a mostly flat course for the first 133 km until they reach the 'Beast of Provence' and climb 1,423m to the finish line on the mountain where British cyclist Tom Simpson sadly died in 1967 from heat exhaustion. Despite being the penultimate stage, the winner of this year's Tour is likely to be known at the end of today, with tomorrow's final stage traditionally being more of a procession into the capital, as those still in the race will be in a celebratory mood having made it to the end.   • S2025E21 Stage 21: Mantes-la-Ville-Paris Champs-Elysees

    Coverage of stage 21, which consists of a 132.3km route from Mantes-la-Ville to Paris, with the climax being the traditional finish along the Champs-Élysées. As is custom, the leader of the general classification coming into today will not see his position challenged, and the lead-up into Paris will have a relaxed, convivial feeling among the peloton. Once the riders reach the French capital the pace will increase as the sprint specialists compete to win the stage, which climaxes with a race over several laps on a circuit that takes in some of the world's most famous sites.
