Benny Ball ist in heller Aufregung. Seine Mutter hat ihren Besuch angekündigt. Leider hat Benny ihr verschwiegen, daß er ein Straßenkater ist. Stattdessen hat er sich in Briefen zum Bürgermeister von New York gemacht.
A voracious anteater named Jimmy follows Benny the Ball back to the alley. The gang discovers that a reward has been offered for the animal's safe return to the zoo, hut before they can turn Jimmy in, an overzealous dogcatcher nabs him and takes him to the dog pound. The cats break into the pound to spring Jimmy, hut are thwarted by Dibble. The anteater manages to return to the alley the next day- accompanied by his entire hungry family.

Un oso hormiguero que se ha escapado del zoológico, sigue a Benny hasta el callejón. Como se ofrece una recompensa por él, Don Gato pretende mantener a Jimmy (Cyrano) como T.C. lo ha nombrado, escondido para que no lo encuentre nadie y devolverlo más tarde para cobrar la recompensa. Al mismo tiempo, Dibble intenta convertirse en un detective y practica para su prueba con Don Gato.
