While Ichigo Momomiya is on her first date with Masaya Aoyama, she is bathed in a strange light and sees herself being merged with a cat. Afterwards, she begins to display cat-like behaviors. The next day, Ichigo follows Masaya into a park, where a strange jellyfish-like creature takes over a rat's body, turning it into a monster. Ryou Shirogane saves Ichigo and gives her a pendant allowing her to transform into Mew Ichigo. With her new powers, she defeats the monster, turning it back into a normal rat. Afterwards, Ryou refuses to explain what just occurred, so the newly arrived Keiichiro Akasaka offers to do so instead.
Strawberry ha un appuntamento con Mark, un suo compagno di scuole per il quale ha una cotta. Durante l'incontro però una strana luce colpisce la ragazza e il suo DNA si fonde con quello di un gatto dando così vita alla prima Mew mew.
Alors qu'Ichigo Momomiya est à son premier rendez-vous avec Masaya Aoyama, elle est baignée dans une étrange lumière et se voit fusionner avec un chat. Par la suite, elle commence à afficher des comportements semblables à ceux d’un chat. Le lendemain, Ichigo suit Masaya dans un parc, où une étrange créature ressemblant à une méduse s'empare du corps d'un rat, le transformant en monstre. Ryou Shirogane sauve Ichigo et lui offre un pendentif lui permettant de se transformer en Mew Ichigo. Grâce à ses nouveaux pouvoirs, elle vainc le monstre et le transforme en rat normal. Par la suite, Ryou refuse d'expliquer ce qui vient de se passer, alors Keiichiro Akasaka, nouvellement arrivé, propose de le faire à la place.
