Season 2 premiered on September 12, 1981. It continues the trio's crusade across the wasteland with high-stakes adventures involving stolen weapons and runaway trains. Continuing their journey through the ravaged world of 3994, this season sees Thundarr, Ookla, and Ariel facing unique perils, such as the theft of the Sunsword by the wizard Yando and a desperate race to stop a locomotive carrying toxic "death flowers" in "Last Train to Doomsday." The episodes maintain the series' signature blend of sorcery and lost technology, culminating in battles against foes like the sorceress Circe, who transforms humans into animals on the "Island of the Body Snatchers."
