Pollyanna comes to stay with her aunt, Polly Harrington, the most powerful woman in the town of Harrington. Aunt Polly wants her to concentrate on her studies but Pollyanna would rather make friends with the orphan kids. One day, a woman named Widow Jenn comes to town and Pollyanna, along with other citizens, try to spyon her because of a rumor going around.
