Yuyang reveals that Qicong is Qingxiong’s illegitimate son. She berates him for rejecting the case to avoid exposing his affair. Unable to accept his infidelity to Atsuki, she storms off. CCI investigates Caixia to get some leads. Yuyang and Junyan find out Caixia and Yanyan had become good friends through a cooking class. Qingxiong looks at the photos and notices that Atsuki was in the same class. He starts to have doubts about her. Qingxiong suddenly remembers reading Qicong’s composition about an auntie. He quickly looks for it. Reading it, he suspects Atsuki had known even then about Qicong’s existence. Qingxiong and Yuyang interrogate Atsuki, and she admits taking Qicong away. Shocked, Qingxiong asks where he is. Meigui says Atsuki is a scheming person. Atsuki had once threatened Yinghua and insisted that the ties with Qingxiong be severed. Atsuki confesses that she had accidentally found out about Qicong 10 years ago. Distressed about Qingxiong’s unfaithfulness, she had looked for Qicong without anyone knowing and befriended him. She was fond of him, but was unable to accept him as part of the family. Thereafter, Atsuki got to know Caixia through cooking class. Caixia had just lost custody of her daughter, Meiwei, at the time. Both women shared the same bitterness at their husbands’ betrayal, and decided to send Qicong and Meiwei away. The two children were drugged, and through Caixia’s manoeuvrings, were transported to Malaysia. Qingxiong condemns Atsuki for using Qicong to get back at him. She maintains that Qicong himself had refused to stay with his father and requested to leave Singapore. Meigui did not believe her. Atsuki claims she has been in contact with Qicong. No amount of persuasion has ever convinced him to acknowledge his father. Junyan returns and reveals Qicong has passed away.
