Uncle Wang denies the accusation. Qingxiong asks how long he is going to remain in hiding. His disappearance has affected the lives of his wife and son. Aunt Wang has become the sole breadwinner, and his son lied at school that his father is a pilot and is frequently not at home. Persuaded by Qingxiong, Uncle Wang confesses the murderer is Jiang Ying. It turns out that Uncle Wang was a criminal wanted for assault. Jiang Ying had threatened to expose him unless he helped her. Acting under Jiang Ying’s instructions, Uncle Wang had tailed Xinmei and drugged her. He took her to a secluded hut and waited for Jiang Ying, who did not show up but put money in Uncle Wang’s letter box. Since then, Uncle Wang has lived in seclusion and has never seen Jiang Ying again. Xinmei’s death had nothing to do with him. CCI look for clues in the hut. They find a credit card receipt and Xinmei’s watch. The snack bar assistant who had worked that day provides some leads, and, with Haifeng’s video, they deduce that Jiang Ying is the murderer. Dawei confronts Jiang Ying. Knowing she can no longer keep it under wraps, she admits she had strangled Xinmei, disposed of the body in a suitcase, and dumped it into the sea. Jiang Ying is arrested, and Uncle Wang turns himself in. Yuyang is torn between Junyan and Haifeng. Qingxiong analyses the situation and advises her not to choose either of them.
