Nigel likes speeding, but he has to travel slowly aboard the chain ferry, which makes him angry with William. He has to be diverted because Jennie has broken down on the level crossing, and then ends up stuck behind Barney. He shouts and hoots at Barney, and makes Barney angry with him. Barney explains that Nigel will have to be patient, but Nigel is very angry because he can’t bear to go slowly. He grumbles but finds that going slowly isn’t so bad after all, since he notices things around him that he usually misses. That said, he can’t wait to go fast again!
