Following on from the success of his radio chat show in 2015,Tommy Tiernan brought his improvised chat show with a difference to RTÉ One this Christmas. In December 2015, a TV pilot for The Tommy Tiernan Show was filmed in front of a live studio audience, and subsequently broadcast to very positive reaction. Following on from this, a six-part series was commissioned for transmission on RTÉ One in early 2017, followed by a second series in 2018.
