Při noční procházce téměř prázdnými ulicemi San Francisca zažije Martha Howardová šok, když se jí někdo úmyslně pokusí srazit autem. V poslední vteřině unikne smrti. Mike Stone a Steve Keller stojí před záhadou, protože Martha očividně nemá žádné nepřátele. Martha Howard wird eines Nachts fast überfahren. Sie informiert die Polizei. Mike Stone und Steve Heller gehen der Sache nach. Nichts deutet auf einen Anschlag hin.
