Michael Fry is a single father with a baby son to look after. He is also a frustrated town-planner who laments the economic decline of the place he has known since childhood. When Fry is asked to close down a local hotel on the grounds that they are breaking fire regulations, he is surprised to be accompanied by the local police - and even more surprised when he discovers an internet sex den within the hotel run by industrious pimp Herbie. Michael helps rescue one of the internet porn actresses, Donna, and is so taken with her that later that day he returns the bag that she had left as she fled the police. There is an instant attraction between them - and Donna doesn't seem to be phased by the fact that he has his one-year old son with him.
Michael Fry has to consider blackmail and revenge to save his hometown in the concluding part of Paul Abbott's contemporary drama. He has to make a deal with the town's pimp, Herbie, in order to stop Wentworth-Davies tearing down his parents' house to make way for a new, unwanted beach. His relationship with internet porn star Donna gets put to the test when Michael's wife arrives back on the scene. And when some old town plans turn up, Michael is in a fight to stop his whole world falling apart.
