A group of four Edwardian children discover a Phoenix, who then whisks them away on a fantastic adventure.
The children and the Phoenix return from France and then travel on to a secluded desert island.
The Cook is left behind, as the newly appointed Queen of the island, while the children continue on with another journey.
The children take the phoenix on a tour of London.
After the carpet is sent back to it's home country to pick up some presents, the children are not too happy with what it actually returns with.
