    • February 28, 2019

China. Coronavirus outbreak. All you wanted to know about China virus or coronavirus in project "How People Live" My friends, I am Lyadov, and I am in China doing my vlog. Right now, I intend to go to the Hubei Province, which as many of you already know is described as the source of the coronavirus. This is where the city of Wuhan is, where the coronavirus story started. I want to see how the people there are living. Don’t get me wrong. I am not crazy. I studied the medical side of the issue quite carefully, so I know what I am doing. The most difficult part now is not the virus, but the Chinese police. First of all, the Chinese have one of the world’s most vigilant police forces. Presently, they are being especially careful to catch anyone who films anything at all in the proximity to the Hubei border. // So, let’s see what becomes of this.

    • July 31, 2019

Venezuela documentary. Caracas - the most dangerous city in the world. Today I will show how people live in a country, where you should only walk the street holding things you a ready to give away to folks with guns, who will surely find you sooner or later. Today we will visit the most terrifying districts, where 30 people shot per day is kind of O.K. You will find amazing and interesting facts about that country you never heard before. “Most of the crimes happen exactly in these districts – robbery, murders, kidnapping.” We will also pay a visit to the rich district. “Huge golf fields. And they are not empty, unlike shelves in the shops.” We will find out why a portion of fries in McDonald’s costs 130$. We will also visit the Venezuelan carnival. Venezuela is an amazing country, because full gas tank costs around $0,075 and a roll of toilet paper - $8,42. Recently there was an assassination attempt on Maduro, a copter flew to him as close as possible and exploded. Since then everyone with a copter is arrested.

  • S01E05 Venezuela - Colombia / The most dangerous Border

  • S01E06 Daily life in Mongolia. The Desert Country

    • November 22, 2020

My trip to Mongolia went through the Gobi Desert and off-road to the only city - Ulan Bator and was as extreme as possible. How people live in a country where there are still only 3 asphalt roads throughout the country, many live in the middle of the desert with camels. In order not to freeze in winter, some have to dig homemade artisanal mines, from where they sometimes do not return. Trees in this country hardly grow. I have visited the desert, mine, yurt and the largest city - the capital Ulan Bator.

  • S01E07 Mexico / Narcos War Zones

We'll visit the Guerrero state mountains, home of the largest heroine plantations in the country. We'll talk to local gang members, who weigh their cash, because it is quicker to count it that way. These people don't just control a shop or a street, nope, not even districts, instead they control villages and towns! It's the Guerrero State, where half of Mexico's heroine production takes place. Honestly, when I was on my way to Mexico, I had no idea this trip will turn out to be one of the most insane trips of my life, all due to the fact that Mexico is now experiencing a new evolution of drug wars, and today I'll visit cities with no army, no police, since it's narcos, who control them!

  • S01E08 How a Cartel takes over US - Mexico Border

    • January 26, 2021

Dear people, in this episode we will visit the most guarded border in the world, which is nevertheless under the onrush of illegal immigrants. In order to get to the USA they scale rusty poles, crawl under fire. There are also really desperate guys, who hide under the seat covers in buses to travel unnoticed. Others build actual catapults, believe it or not, to shoot cocaine bundles over the neutral zone to the US territory. Here the night vision camera caught the moment of the shot. Some numskulls even try to drive over the wall. Here’s a Jeep stuck on top of the steel supports. The guys had to simply drop it and haul ass. We will also go to the really remote areas of Mexico, where people live like in prehistoric times. There’s no TV, no cellular connection, no Internet except in the mayor’s house. But most importantly there are no police. In the Guerrero state mountains people grow heroin, and the towns are ruled by those who drive very expensive cars. Today I’m at one of the most dangerous and interesting borders in the world – the US-Mexico border. Still, despite this huge crazy wall people manage to leak through the fence. This is Lyadov and How People Live from the US-Mexico border.

  • S01E09 Somalia / Most Dangerous Country for Tourists / Somali Pirates

    • March 31, 2021

All important buildings here have been converted into bunkers, which are protected by czech hedgehogs, spiked ribbons and even a palisade of sharpened rails dug into the ground. This is the first part of my Somalia documentary.

    • July 19, 2021

People, today i will show you how War looks like for ordinary civilians. Сonstant bombing, drone attacks, loss of loved ones, destruction of your own home - thats all about Horror of War. This video was my toughest experience ever. The footage for this report was filmed from both sides of the conflict. And I will take turns showing life from one side or the other of the front. So have patience. At the same time, I categorically do not support military actions of any of these parties. I equally love my friends and relatives - Armenians and Azerbaijanis. Azerbaijanis and Armenians. Human relations for me are much more important than nationalities, religions, citizenship and even political views. The only reason I am making this video is to show the horror of war that freezes in front of the little ones, children, women, all peaceful people who at some point discover that the sound of shells is not muffled even if they crawl under the bed and cover themselves with a pillow.

    • May 26, 2022

This episode is dedicated to Odessa, a truly incredible city. It remains Ukraine’s key seaside resort after the country lost Crimea. It’s also a strategic location in the ongoing war. I planned to go there myself, but there’s no way they would let me into Ukraine. So I drove as close as I could get to Odessa. There’s about 50 km between Odessa and Moldova–Ukraine border, and 180 km separate Odessa and Chișinău. I couldn’t go to Odessa since I’m a citizen of Russia. No Russians are allowed to cross the border. Luckily, Volodya Karmanov, a blogger from Moldova, stepped in. He was to go with a cameraman, but the last minute his mother asked him not to go, and he couldn’t say no. And this is Volodya Karmanov’s report from Odessa.

For a long time, almost every building here looked pretty much like this, but now it’s coming back to life. But seeing all these buildings, many of them high-rises 11, 12 stories tall that have been practically reduced to rubble, is mind bending. This is something that seems entirely impossible both in terms of common sense and in terms of the laws of physics, laws of nature. Yet, right now, despite all the attempts by the terrorists to keep the city as their stronghold, the people of Mosul are getting their peaceful life back. This is Lyadov to tell you how people live in Mosul.

If an infant’s top teeth come in before the bottom teeth, that’s considered to be a deformity that calls for the village to literally kill the child. You will meet this amazing person, Lale Labuko. Japanese corporations are among the leaders on the global scene. We all know that Japanese cars, watches, cameras and musical instruments are of top quality. Japan is a leader in terms of life expectancy that exceeds 84 years. It is the third-largest economy in the world by nominal GDP even though the country has next to no mineral resources and a tiny territory, and only 30% of it is habitable. So how come that this advanced nation is also home to some very serious organized crime? Charles will be the 40th monarch crowned at Westminster Abbey, and this will be the first coronation of a British sovereign in 70 years. Prince Charles beat two records when he became king in 2022 – as Britain’s oldest heir apparent and longest serving heir-apparent to-date. His mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II is also a record-setter. She became the longest reigning British monarch, having ruled for 70 years 214 days, beating the record of 63 years and 216 days of her great-great-mother Queen Victoria. Queen Elizabeth II was also the longest-lived British monarch, having lived 96 years 140 days.

  • S03E09 72 hours Inside Afghanistan after the Taliban's Takeover

    • June 2, 2023

This is Anton, and today we’re in Afghanistan. In this episode I will show you how people live in Afghanistan just a few months after the country was retaken by the Taliban movement, considered a terrorist organization by many nations. People tried to flee the country in most unimaginable ways: they even attempted to ride the plane on the outside in the hope to get out. Today, I’ll talk to an official working in the new government, and he’ll tell us why people can’t get their pay for months and have to queue for many hours or even spend a night queueing for their turn to use an ATM – sometimes, with their families. We also have a special guest in this episode - journalist and expert in Asian and Islamic studies Alexandra Kovalskaya will go on a reporting mission through the country shaken by the recent Taliban offensive.

  • S03E10 Inside Iraq 20 years after the war started Life in the most troubled city of Iraq

    • July 14, 2023

This is Lyadov and today, I will show you how people live in Kirkuk, one of Iraq’s most troubled cities that was built over a large oil field, a target of a protracted and bloody war lasting for many years. Here, I’m having a, well, a security detail following me, two real bodyguards. The reason for this is that although it’s been relatively quiet in Kirkuk for the past few years and it’s considered generally a safe city, the truth is that all these ‘relatively’ and ‘generally’ remain a pretty ‘iffy’ affair, because Kirkuk is right in the middle of the territory where multiple terrorist sleeper cells are known to be, continuously hunted down by Iraq’s special services and popular mobilization forces that keep looking for the insurgency groups trying to continue the war, and so you never really know what might happen to you here. In order to understand what’s special about Kirkuk, you need to know two things about it. Firstly, it’s home to one of the world’s largest oil and gas deposit

  • S03E11 The Terrifying True Scale of Atomic bomb tests in the USSR

    • September 9, 2023

I am in this scary as hell place that had served as the testing ground for the most devastating weapons of mass destruction humanity has ever invented - nuclear bombs - for 40 years in a row. A total of almost half a thousand nuclear bombs had been tested here between 1949 and 1989. The USSR’s top scientists and researchers were studying the effect of nuclear weapons on urban settlements. They had been building mock towns with real buildings and even metro stations to be able to see and access the impact. The researchers identified the areas where people would die right away, where people could survive but go blind, or where they’d survive just fine and but their progeny would develop mutations for many years into the future. They ran experiments, analyzed the results, and then, judging by the way it looks today, the entire project was abandoned like no one ever gave a rat’s ass about it. But today I will take you to the people who will never forget a single thing about those times. [

  • S03E12 Russia's Secret Underground Military Base on the US Border Russia's Secret Plan to Invade USA

    • September 24, 2023

My dear people, today, I’m going to get inside the Soviet easternmost top-secret nuclear military base. It was a secret to everyone, and in complete secrecy, tens of thousands troops and loads of heavy machinery and equipment had been moved here to build and man silos for ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads. Unofficially, this project was dubbed “the invasion army.” Back in the days of the Soviet Union, this used to be one of the areas of extreme tension on the political map. Why? Because only 50 miles separate this coast and the American soil. That’s the reason the Soviets invested crazy loads of money and stuff into this place, and moved here lots of manpower. They built here all the infrastructure and moved here entire garrisons, or rather entire military bases. This is Lyadov reporting today from a former top-secret restricted-access military settlement located very close to the border separating Russia and the United States.

  • S03E13 First 24 hours Inside the heart of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor Chernobyl Disaster

    • October 7, 2023

This is Lyadov, and today, I’ll tell you about the worst disaster, that humanity could ever imagine. It’s very hard to understand, but 37 years after it occurred, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster is still shrouded in mystery. All sorts of conspiracy theories, such as that an earthquake occurred at the time, or that the accident was caused by saboteurs at the plant are still out there, although they have all been refuted by professionals and experts. A number of contemporary documents were declassified recently by the KGB, and they are a very interesting read. To be honest, in order to get to the core of why this explosion really occurred one has to go really deep into the science of nuclear physics, but just this one document that lists all the information that was classified at the time is actually enough to understand that back in the day when it happened, people were simply lied to. Real radiation numbers were classified. Radiation levels were off the charts, but they were never discl

  • S03E14 Israel vs Hamas War: Came to Israel and saw everything with our own eyes / Special report from scene

    • October 17, 2023

People, today, we’re reporting from Israel that has seen, over the past few days, an unprecedented and most violent escalation of the Arab-Israeli conflict for the past few decades. Hamas attacked Israel, Israel is bombing Gaza, and both sides have declared it a war. Israel has formed a cabinet to manage the war of a scale and brutality unseen for at least 50 years, ever since the 1973 October War. Each war has two sides, and the focus of our reports is always on the people on both sides, so we’re going to speak to the people who have suffered due to recent events both in Israel and in Gaza. The People project’s reporter has already landed in Israel, and we’re going to continue our reports. Subscribe to our channel to see all the new videos and photos we post there.

  • S03E16 I Investigated the US - Canada Weird Border Where Secret illegal underground tunnel was found

    • October 29, 2023

People, today I will show you how people live on the border where they even have buildings that are part in the United States, part in Canada. I’ll show you where you can cross the US border without even a passport, and where you’ll have to undergo a very thorough border check. Today I will show you how people live in one of the most unusual spots on our planet, on the border of the United States of America. Right now, I’m on the Canadian soil, and across the water that island over there is the American soil. It’s very close, for example. I feel the rain drizzling now and over there, you can see it pouring from the cloud real hard, I can even hear the thunder. This area is fitted with a mind-blowing number of surveillance devices, and border agencies patrol the area all the time and generally keep watching each other very closely despite the fact that they don’t really have a physical border between the countries. This is Lyadov reporting to you on how people live on the border betwee

  • S03E17 Inside Pakistan's largest arms market on the border with Afghanistan

    • November 14, 2023

People, today, we will show you active gun-making factories in Pakistan. We will go to the tribal areas that are out of reach of the official government. This tribal area is also called ‘trouble area’. The official laws of Pakistan don’t work here. It harbors a marketplace where you can buy anything normally never sold at any other regular market of the world… although at a first glance it looks pretty regular too. We spot some creepy hearse vans at the entrance, then see a number of guys selling veggies off their trucks. All seems pretty ordinary until, behind the peas, cucumbers and old scales, we see a wall with a banner, Asia Arms Store, complete with phone numbers and a contact in WhatsApp. As soon as we entered the market we were followed and five minutes later, we were stopped by two big guys in black. Today, we have with us Alex Pototsky, a friend of mine and a fantastic reporter who’s been all over the world. This is Lyadov and The people project from the border between Pa

  • S03E18 How safe is Pakistan? / I went there to find out and met the Most Dangerous People Of Pakistan

    • December 1, 2023

People, today we're in Pakistan, in the valley of Swat. It was a holy place of worship. There were thousands of Buddhist temples, stupas, monasteries and statues. But then everything changed. In 2007, the Pakistani Taliban took control over Swat and the first thing they did was to try and destroy this amazing Buddha carving. They used dynamite sticks to blow it up, but luckily not all them worked. The Pakistani Taliban – not to be confused with the Taliban in Afghanistan – took this area under control in 2007. They went on to destroy everything and everyone who did not fit their profile of ‘true believers’. I went to Pakistan to find out, if it is safe or not. And in the valley of Swat we met a man who was accompanied by two armed soldiers.

  • S03E19 Inside Argentina's Most Dangerous Neighborhood

    • December 15, 2023

People, today, I’m in Argentina. Well, friends, we’re now again in Latin America on our way to check out some slums. This neighborhood is called Villa-31. Villa is the Argentinian name for the kind of slums they call favelas in Brazil, or barrios in Venezuela. And here, they call them villas. People in Argentina love their freedom so much here that they have an entire neighborhood where people don’t pay for anything at all, like electricity or water, and where they don’t have any official title to their property, but nonetheless, they keep building one hut on top of another, which is how this huge favela district has come to be. And also I visited the neighborhood which is called Constitución and is located near the train station. So let’s see it. Yeah, all the stuff you like to hear about, I know. This is Lyadov and my report on how people live in Argentina.

  • S03E20 Jerusalem Religion and Conflict How Jews and Arabs manage to share one city

    • December 29, 2023

People, have you ever seen a city that two countries call their own capital? It’s Jerusalem, one of the oldest cities on our planet that has what we know as irreconcilable enemies living in it next to each other. Is it really true? Is it possible for irreconcilable enemies to live for centuries next door to each other? Or are there perhaps more colors in this palette than just black and white? Jerusalem’s total population is about one million people. There is West Jerusalem, the part that is under Israeli control. Then, there is East Jerusalem, and there are Palestinian neighborhoods that are home to 370 thousand people, and there are Israeli neighborhoods that are home to some 200 thousand people, and there are disputed areas. The international status of East Jerusalem remains uncertain till these days. Now, with the unprecedented escalation of the armed conflict, most likely any stranger in East Jerusalem will raise suspicions at the very least... And that’s exactly where our reporte

It has gone through so many years of war fighting for independence that the number of people with guns here will blow your mind. All people including children have guns here in cities and villages alike and even in tribes living in the wild. People here are known to wash their heads with cow urine to make their hair golden brown. Some tribes blow their cows in the butts to make them produce more milk. They may seem weird but the fact is that they have been able to preserve their unique authentic culture though decades of war in absence of any order, through complete chaos. This is Lyadov to show you How People Live in South Sudan.

Less than a million people live in the capital of the state, but there are more than two hundred gangs that constantly divide the city's neighborhoods among themselves. They have their own game of thrones, with no regard for official authorities or police. The biggest gimmick that has raised all these gangs is the government itself. For the past weeks, the streets of Haiti have been very turbulent. Criminals have seized and closed the country's main airport, set fire to several police stations and stormed two prisons, releasing more than 4,000 prisoners. Police are paralyzed, people are calling the radio today with pleas for help, go figure! This Narnia-grade forest is absolutely incredible. And as you’re walking through this wonderland the last thing you expect to see while looking around is a big gun pointing at you from inside a mountain, that is from inside a bunker in a mountain. Inside this mountain and behind this gun, there is a two-level bunker with a system of tunnels that stretch for miles. And this is just one of hundreds of the country’s massive underground strongholds. • June 22, 2024

People, today, we are in Iran. The 1979 Islamic Revolution turned Iran into one of the most conservative countries in the world. The state has a full control of everything its citizens can or cannot do, especially women. They can’t be seen in public with their heads uncovered, they can’t wear T-shirts, they can’t ride motorbikes, and so on. They face restrictions every step of the way. For over 40 years now, Iran has been living under severe sanctions. All major international corporations stopped operating in the country – just like many severed ties with Russia recently. But the most recent wave of protests has put things into motion, and things started to change. Today, we will tell you how people live in Tehran. This is "The People" project with Alexandra Sabynina.
