Die Freunde Andy und Vince würden zu gerne einmal einen Krieg erleben. Deshalb nehmen sie an einer Veranstaltung des Fotografen Nicholas Prentice teil, der die Zuschauer mittels einer Spezialkamera in das Jahr 1863 - unmittelbar vor der Schlacht von Gettysburg - teleportiert. Prentice hofft, dass der fanatische Andy durch die Schrecken des Bürgerkriegs geheilt wird und das Schicksal Amerikas positiv beeinflussen kann. Doch leider ändert ein Versehen den Lauf der Dinge.
Andy and Vince are Civil War buffs who spend their weekends re-enacting battles from the historic conflict with others of similar persuasion. On this weekend, they're in Gettysburg for a giant recreation of the war's bloodiest battle when a photographer, Prentice asks to take their picture with his ancient tin-type camera. But when the shutter clicks, Andy and Vince find themselves transported back to the Confederate camp of Col. Angus Devine on the eve of the infamous 1863 battle. Prentice, who joins them in the past, explains that he has sent them back as a grand experiment, to see if history can in fact be changed,
proving destiny is not final.
Andy et Vince sont deux fans de la guerre de sécession et occupent le plus clair de leurs week-ends à se consacrer à des reconstitutions des grandes batailles de cette époque. Lorsqu'un photographe du nom de Prentice leur demande de poser pour lui, ils se retrouvent transportés dans le temps.

Andy y Vince son amantes de la Guerra Civil que pasan los fines de semana recreando batallas del histórico conflicto con otros de afición similar. En este fin de semana, están en Gettysburg para una recreación gigante de la batalla más sangrienta de la guerra cuando un fotógrafo, Prentice le pide que se tome una foto con su antigua cámara de estaño. Pero cuando el obturador hace clic, Andy y Vince se encuentran transportados de regreso al campamento confederado del Coronel Angus Devine en la víspera de la infame batalla de 1863.
