FDA Meeting, Vaccine Timeline & Waiting for Relief

President-elect Joe Biden’s covid advisory board member Dr. Atul Gawande says the biggest challenge in distributing the Pfizer vaccine is delivering it to rural areas. He says there will be three to four more Covid-19 vaccines other than the one from Pfizer. Former FDA commissioner Dr. Mark McClellan, is also a board member on Johnson and Johnson. He joins CNBC’s Shep Smith to talk about Covid vaccine distribution. CNBC’s Ylan Mui reports health-care workers are currently training to give people the Covid-19 vaccine once it’s approved and available to the public. CVS is urgently hiring thousands of employees and even offering hero pay to those who are willing to bring needles to nursing homes. Despite urgency to pass a second coronavirus stimulus bill, Republican Senate leaders rejected the $908 billion bipartisan proposal. The House will adjourn until at least Tuesday pending an agreement on pandemic aid and full-year government funding.
