Covid Economy, Prop 22 & Biden’s Transition

Daily new cases of the coronavirus continue to rise in the U.S., setting fresh records. More than 143,000 new infections were recorded on Wednesday, according to newly revised data from Johns Hopkins University. That’s the highest single-day tally yet. Across the country, families are deciding how, when and where to get together for the holiday season — if at all. Top Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley said President-elect Joe Biden should be receiving classified intelligence briefings from the Trump administration. President Donald Trump has not conceded the race to Biden, and the Democrat’s transition efforts have been stymied by a key agency’s refusal to formally acknowledge him as the winner. At least 13 Republican women are joining the 117th U.S. Congress after dominating the 2020 elections, making history for the highest number of women in the House of Representatives. Plus, Uber and Lyft spent million to pass a law designed to avoid hiring drivers as employees.
