Fran eröffnet Sylvia, dass sie schwanger ist und bittet sie um Rat, was Maxwell betrifft. Sylvia ist sicher, dass er begeistert sein wird, wenn er erfährt, dass er Vater wird und empfiehlt Fran, es ihm an einem romantischen Abend zu sagen. Fran bittet Sylvia, die Schwangerschaft vorerst geheim zu halten, da sie es Maxwell selber sagen will. Leider hat Niles ihre Unterhaltung mit Sylvia mitgehört und verplappert sich auch noch C.C. gegenüber. Damit sie dichthält, spielt er ihren Sklaven und muss Haarfarben für sie testen. Da Maxwell nicht sofort kapiert, worauf Fran am Abend, gewandet im Négligé bei Kerzenschein, hinauswill, setzt er sich erneut in die Nesseln, als er sagt, dass er momentan nicht gerade wild auf ein Baby ist. Beleidigt rennt Fran in den Central Park, wo sie sich mit einer jungen Mutter unterhält. Kaum dass Fran Mut gefasst hat, wieder nach Hause zu gehen und mit Maxwell zu reden, wird sie von heftigen Krämpfen erfasst. Im Krankenhaus entschuldigt Maxwell sich für seine babyfeindlichen Äußerungen. Doch wie es aussieht, hat Fran das Baby ohnehin verloren.
Fran is very excited about her pregnancy, but worries about Maxwell's reaction since he said a baby was he last thing they needed in their lives. While trying to tell him, Fran gets upset and storms out of the house to chill her mind at Central Park. There, while talking to a fellow mother who took her kids to the park, Fran feels abdominal pains and is rushed to the hospital, where she and Maxwell – who's now happy about the baby - fear for their baby.
