In a flashback, Li Bi wants to stay in the mountains to practice monasticism, and when Yao Runeng tries to talk him out of it, they have a quarrel and Li Bi gets rid of him. He Zhizheng wails when he finds out that He Fu’s eyes have been gouged out. He Fu falsely accuses the Crown Price of ordering him to assassinate Lin Jiulang, and states repeatedly that He Zhizheng is innocent. Lin Jiulang affixes all three of the official seals onto He Fu’s statement and submits it to the Emperor.
