  • S01E01 Light in the Darkness

    This program's focus is on the Medieval period highlighting the works of Giotto, Van Eyck and other artists who forged a link with the religious world, discovered perspective and paved the way for the Renaissance which was to follow.

  • S01E02 A New Dream

    This program's focus is on the Renaissance. This golden age inspired the likes of Michaelangelo, Raphael, Da Vinci and Holbein. This video highlights masterpieces such as the Ambassadors, The Mona Lisa, The Last Judgement and The Last Supper.

  • S01E03 The Age of Splendor

    This program's focus is on the Baroque. Great works from Rembrandt, Rubens,Caravaggio and Bernini coupled with spectacular new limits of realism and expression that fosters such great art as Las Meninas, Marriage a la Mode,The Conversion of St Paul and The Lion Hunt.

  • S01E04 Reason and Enlightenment

    This program's focus is on The Rococo. The emphasis on pastoral themes and strong classical influence emerged in the work of Hogarth, Gainsborough, Chardin and David. Great works studied include The Blue Boy, The Rakes Progress and Saying Grace.

  • S01E05 Passion and Revolution

    This programs focus is on Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. As the strict classical disciplines of the eighteenth century faded, the Romantic movement and the landscape painters cam to prominence: Constable, Turner , and Goya flourished, leaving us such masterpieces as the The Third of May, The Hay Wain and Rain, Steam and Speed.

  • S01E06 A New Vision

    This program's focus is on the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist era. Never was a world so completely turned upside down as with the arrival of the Impressionist School. This video features the revolutionary work of Cezanne, Seurat, Manet and Van Gogh. Titles featured include Gare St. Lazare, Dance at the Moulin de la Galette, La Mont St. Victoire and The Bathers.
