Food Wastage

Imagine if a third of all your time, money and effort achieved nothing. This is the reality for farmers around the world, because one-third of all the food produced is wasted. In Singapore, 788,600 tonnes of food waste were generated in 2014. This means each Singaporean discarded some 145 kg of food last year. Most people associate food waste with overconsumption. The East, South and South-east Asia make up about 40 per cent of total global food waste problem.
