In Essex, the rescuers provide the elderly owner of Blue, an overweight whippet, with a new diet and exercise regime that will help him shed the excess pounds. The also catches up with Mavis, one of nine poodles abandoned by the side of the road in Winchester last year. When they were found, their wet, matted coats accounted for more than 40 per cent of their body weight, but now Mavis regularly goes for grooming and pampering treatments with her owner Sally. Finally, Anthony Pulfer checks in on Prince, the shar pei who was found with barely any fur.
