Am 4. Februar 1945 beginnt die Konferenz von Jalta. Joseph Stalin, Franklin D. Roosevelt und Winston Churchill treffen sich in dem russischen Badeort – vordergründig, um über die Beendigung des zweiten Weltkriegs zu sprechen, tatsächlich aber, um den Grundstein für eine neue Weltordnung zu legen. Doch von Anfang an bestimmt Stalin das Geschehen. Die Rote Armee steht fast vor den Toren Berlins und jeden Tag werden militärische und politische Tatsachen geschaffen. Stalin bestimmt den Ort der Konferenz und lässt seine Verhandlungspartner abhören.
In February 1945, it was known that Nazi Germany had lost the war, but the real winner remained uncertain. In Yalta, Americans, British and the Soviets competed for the domination of Europe. Stalin was outnumbered by his western counterparts but, thanks to his political manoeuvres, he tipped the scales in his favour. This final episode tells how Stalin, despite the opposition of Churchill and Roosevelt, became the master of a large part of Europe.
