The Campbells

Welcome to The Campbells guide at TV Tome. The Campbells is a family series about a Scottish pioneer family making a new life for themselves in 19th Century Ontario. The main characters are James, the father, a doctor and a widower, his son Neil, daughter Emma, younger son John and their neighbor Captain Sims. Characterizations in each episode are well acted and the series pays attention to historical accuracy in the technology, dress and lifestyle of the time. During it's original run it was nominated for a Canadian Gemini Award for: Best Continuing Drama Series, Best Director (George Bloomfield) and Best Photography and won Best Dramatic Underscore-Series. Star Malcolm Stoddard was nominated for Best Actor-Dramatic Series and Amber-Lea Weston for Best Actress-Dramatic Series. It completed 100 episodes over four seasons.
